• How do I adopt a dog from Amicii?

    ADOPTIONS
There are many beautiful dogs looking for their Forever Home. Most of our dogs come to the UK to foster families or direct to our rehoming partner. We occasionally adopt dogs direct from Romania to a family where this is considered the preferable option for the dog. People wanting to adopt a dog from Amicii will therefore generally be directed to the foster family or the rehoming centre to visit and make a decision about whether the dog is right for them. For dogs in foster, an application form will need to be completed prior to visiting. These can be sent directly from the Adoptions Team. Please Private Message Kelly Magee or Finlay Doyl if you would like to adopt one of our dogs, as sometimes we receive a lot of comments and yours may inadvertently be missed. Enquiries for dogs to our rehoming partners will be passed across directly; it is not necessary to complete an Amicii application form for these dogs.

Our adoption form can also be found here: Adoption Form

Meet our dogs available for adoption

BUDDY (RBU) - in UK foster available to adopt and sponsor
The very adorable Buddy is looking for his forever home. Buddy is an affectionate lad who enjoys walkies and cuddles. He is house trained and great with other dogs. Buddy is currently living with younger children so could look to live with dog savvy children. Buddy also lives with a dog savvy cat. Buddy will make a family very happy. He was returned to us because he has nipped, we feel this can be avoided if he is introduced to new people carefully.
He would also like to live with someone who has had dogs before. He a big fluffy boy so would like a home without children. Dec can be nervous of men so is looking for someone has time to put in and help him regain his trust. He is on a diet at the moment and we feel he would benefit from hydrotheraphy as he has an issue with his legs. He has recently had x-rays.
ELLY (RBU) - in UK foster available to adopt and sponsor
Elly is looking for a new home. She would be suited to someone who has had dogs before and has time and patience to help her settle.
About Elly: She is weary of meeting new people, both in and out of the house and slower introductions are best. Over the past few months, she has been going out on group walks with a fantastic dog walker to build her confidence although she can become overwhelmed in crowded places so peaceful walks are more her thing. She absolutely adores other friendly dogs and would benefit from living with another. Her recall and training are good but like with most young dogs its on going. She would be well suited to owners who are home for a good part of the day or as mentioned have another canine for company.
She hasn’t spent time with children so we are looking for a child free quiet home. Once she settles, she is very playful and shows you just what a lovely little character she has.
She enjoys the company of male dogs but isn’t so keen on other females, since starting on hormones she has improved and has been able to walk with a female dog. Before this was not possible. She is playful and will play with above mentioned dogs and most people.
One evening this boy followed a lady and her son into the apartment block where Mim lives. He wanted to escape the cold weather and he was probably hoping for some food too as he was starving. He's an absolute sweetheart! He is pulling quite a lot on the lead at the moment so he needs lead training. He is great with humans and other dogs. A very mellow boy. Approximately 1 year old.
WOLFIBRUTUS - under assessment. Not available to adopt
Kindly sponsored by Lesley Baker
This boy was being looked after by quite an old man who was not strong enough to take care of him, he was due to be taken to the public shelter or to be sold. We are so thankful this boy didn't end up in the wrong hands. It took Dora and Robert 3 hours to rescue him and get him safely into a crate to take to the shelter. He is around 1 year old and very strong, he is fear reactive and needs a lot of skill to be able to handle him. He is now with Toma at the shelter and we hope that he starts to understand that we are helping him.
HORACE (hole pup 4 boy) - RESERVED for Johnathon Bentley
Kindly sponsored by Teign Trees
These pups were found in a hole in the middle of a field. Their mother had dug a huge hole to give birth to her 6 puppies. This is the 4th pup to have been caught, we hope we can get the other 2 and mum. Lying on the snowy ground, it’s not an easy task and may take days of gaining their trust. We think they’re about 4 weeks old and will be medium-large size shepherd type dogs.
